Promote Your Valentine's Day with New Designs: Get Them Today!

January 31st, 2012 • Posted by Andrea Feucht • Permalink

It is time for us to give YOU a Valentine's gift: a new design to keep your Instant Gift Certificate page fresh and gorgeous. We have a new Valentine's Day IGC design, as well as a brand new Instant POP, and a new Collateral design, too! Check this lovely stripey design:

Put a fresh face on your Instant Gift Certificate page's look. No matter how much we LOVE our new designs and think you will, too, we do not force you to update. You can choose at any time to update to new designs, and because we strongly encourage you to, here's how.

The quickest way to begin showcasing those new designs is to apply our default designs in one fell swoop. View them here.

Go into your Setup Tab, then click on GC Designs on the left side of the screen. You'll see your already selected list of thumbnails.

On the left, look for the "Restore Defaults" link, and click on that.

What does "Restore Defaults" mean? It returns GC Designs to the current default settings, replacing any name, category, popularity or hide changes that you've made. Custom designs that you've created will be left untouched. So if you have renamed a design or moved its category or hidden it, that will be undone. Any NEW design of your own is always safe.

Click OK on the next screen, and the new design will be featured on your IGC page! If you hadn't updated in a long time (or ever), you might also have a bunch of new and lovely designs across all categories.

You don't have to do anything to receive the new Instant POP or Collateral designs – just go into your Instant POP and Collateral lists, look for the new design with "2012″ in it, and print away! Enjoy, and Happy February!

What's going on with Facebook Sweepstakes?

September 19th, 2011 • Posted by Stef Odom • Permalink

reboot
Well, Facebook hasn't fixed the bug that caused our Sweepstakes app to stop working, so we've been busy totally re-writing the app. We're testing now and expect the fix to be available soon.

We don't "Like" this but Facebook sweepstakes are temporarily suspended

September 1st, 2011 • Posted by Stef Odom • Permalink

rebootFacebook introduced a bug yesterday that prevents your clients from actually entering your sweepstakes which pretty much defeats the purpose of running them. While we're working on a way around this issue, we've made it so you can't create a new Sweepstakes event. Sorry about that but it's for your own good. If you are running a sweepstakes right now, please contact support for options. Stay tuned for updates!

Vista still isn't worth the trouble

September 19th, 2007 • Posted by Benjamin Morin • Permalink

rebootWe first mentioned it in January and then again in April. Our opinion is still unchanged: Windows Vista still isn't worth the trouble of upgrading. But you still don't have to take our word for it. Joel Spolsky weighs in at his Joel on Software blog…

I've been using Vista on my home laptop since it shipped, and can say with some conviction that nobody should be using it as their primary operating system — it simply has no redeeming merits to overcome the compatibility headaches it causes. Whenever anyone asks, my advice is to stay with Windows XP (and to purchase new systems with XP preinstalled).

Daylight Saving Time System Update

March 9th, 2007 • Posted by Benjamin Morin • Permalink

rebootSpaBoom's servers will be taken down Sunday, March 11th, 2007 at 12:30 a.m. MST to perform system updates to our servers' time zone information database. The expected downtime is 30 minutes or less.

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 extends the length of Daylight Saving Time (DST) beginning in 2007. Accordingly, DST will begin three weeks earlier than in the past, beginning on Sunday, March 11, 2007 and will end one week later on Sunday, November 4, 2007.

If you're up at that time of night and you're really sad because you can't get into your SpaBoom account, you might use that time to check if your own computer needs to be updated. There's a good chance it does.

For more information:

Apple Macintosh users can read About Daylight Saving Time changes in 2007.

Microsoft Windows users can read Daylight Saving Time Help and Support Center.
