Instant Reviews, Part 1: For Your Dynamic Website

June 20th, 2008 • Posted by Andrea Feucht • Permalink

Show your reviews in two places on your websiteReviews, reviews.  We've talked a lot about them, first when we introduced them in October, and then again last month when announcing that we had collected over 30 thousand of them on your behalf!

Currently, the number stands at almost 42,000 - a fantastic opportunity for you to showcase your favorite clients and their feedback.

I will cover how to add Reviews to your Linked in website in Part 2, but first up:

If you have a hosted dynamic website with us, adding reviews to your Events sidebar and your navigation menu (see my handy illustration to the right) is easy, and we go over it in our new help document, called "Reviews for Dynamic Websites".  Yeah, we try not to be too tricky when naming help files - all the better for you to find them, of course.  If you've considered a dynamic website from us, this is yet one more reason to hop on the wagon - up-front showcasing of those great testimonials!

You can continue to see all of your reviews from the Reports tab, whether or not you display them on your site.  Use that report to keep track of any great comments, or even identify places where you can improve in the future.  After all, your clients will tell you exactly what they want, if you just let them, and that's what we are making available to both of you.

Let us know if you have great success stories or comments on the whole Reviews feature - we'd love to hear it!

Is there any way to add reviews to a website that is not hosted by SpaBoom?

  2. Tom Winegar Says:

The review system has been great and I congratulate the idea and can't wait until we'll be able to place the comments on our website. The one negative comment which has surfaced a few time is "It was fine but you shouldn't have to create a password to buy a gift certificate." This is a direct quote from a customer. While we really can't take the time to offer direct responses to all who don't think the process is "top notch," is there any method you guys have to help explain the reasons as to why the circumstances of the purchasing public needing to come up with a password before they can proceed, possible in a popup note or something similar? It would help those who don't understand!

Steve, absolutely — that's going to be Part 2! Thanks for being interesting in sharing your reviews on your site…

  4. Anna Says:

    Thank you!!!

I've added the option and updated the page with a link to an outside site for additional reviews.

Mine currently includes only GC buyer reviews. How/where do clients add new reviews?

  5. Andrea Feucht Says:

    Anna,

When users are on the "Displaying {your spa} Reviews" side of the page, they can add a review easily. We do not show the 'add review' option when viewing the Instant Gift Certificate reviews only.

    I apologize for any confusion!

  6. Anna Says:

Thanks, Andrea. I've looked again and see the add review option now… I'm pretty sure it wasn't there originally and I'm happy to see it!

    Looks great!

  7. Anna Says:

Okay, I love having the reviews available and am now trying to hide two by selecting the review choosing 'hide' and 'other' as the reason (these were duplicate reviews on the same day by the same customer purchasing multiple GCs) — it doesn't seem to be working. I've tried updating and it still shows them — any suggestions??? Is there such a thing as too much praise? :) See the 5 star rebuttal… I just don't want it to seem redundant.

Is there a waiting period for the update to take effect?

    Thank you,
    Anna
