Holiday Promotion Brief:

  • Background (situation Analysis).
  • Target Audience.
  • Measurable sales goal.
  • Strategy.
  • Tactics.
  • Budget.

Developing a promotions strategy provides an outline of what will be communicated to target customers and how it will be communicated.

A promotions strategy is a plan of action developed to meet specific quantitative and qualitative objectives. It defines the process that will be implemented to meet a specific set of objectives.

The holiday promotion may involve developing a specific product/service package that provides value to the consumer and compels them to act and make a reservation. In this case you want to define the package, the "call to action" and then determine the appropriate method of communication to reach consumers with the offer.

There are a variety of advertising methods that can be used to reach target customers:

  • Email marketing.
  • Holiday Newsletter.
  • Direct Mail.
  • In-store promotion display.
  • Traditional advertising, media.
  • Public relations.

Developing a promotions strategy for the holiday will create a plan of action to meet set objectives and define a clear message to the consumer.

    1. I have enjoyed reading the blogs that are posted and others responses. I recently read one about sole practitioners using spa photos that might be misleading to the public when they come to visit our spa. I have worried about that myself. Even though I do not have photos of my business up yet, I do use spa photos. I recently added a "About" tab and announced that I am a "private skin spa" and all services are provided by me

    2. I would love to hear what everyone else is planning as a holiday promotion to help sell more gift certificates. I was playing with adding a holiday gift basket/with spa gift certificates and offer to deliver locally.

I think the best thing you can do is have a couple of professional photos of you and your table/set up taken for your site. If you have any photographer clients or friends you may be able to trade for them. Photographers do lots of weddings and spa treatments are nice wedding party gifts or a incentive for the photographer to include with a package.
