Are any of you catering to Super Bowl refugees?

My husband loves football. The fact that his favorite team isn't in the 'Big Game' doesn't really matter in the slightest. There's a party being planned, at which the usual foods will appear in all their glory–hot wings, pizza, potato salad, brownies, cookies, chips and dips–you know what I mean. Oh, and there will be beer. And for the spouses who attend, there will most likely be wine and mineral water and such, since most of us prefer fruit of the vine and sparkling water over pale ale and other malt beverages.
Is it wrong of me to yearn for a slight change from years past? Wouldn't this year be the perfect year for me to graciously decline the opportunity for bonding on this most fundamental American level and head for my favorite spa instead?
The thought of a massage and wrap followed by a pedicure makes my cheeks flush and heart rate pick up in a very pleasant way. Being cocooned in warmth and yummy oils while being pampered and relaxing deeply–somehow that image appeals much more to me than listening to a bunch of old friends complain about how the Super Bowl is always a disappointment in terms of the game, and how the stakes are so high nobody plays interesting ball, etc…
How many of you are going to be open so that wives and girlfriends and women at large can escape the testosterone fest and just 'be' for a few hours on the day of the 'Big Game'?
I'm betting that if you're open, we will come. And if we know you're open, we can 'suggest' to our sweet men that a day at the spa beats a(nother) day in front of the big screen listening to the witty repartee of retired coaches and commentators any day.
Give me an Instant Gift Certificate for pampering, and instead of being just a good sport, I'm going to be one happy woman!

Since it's a time to party I think I should too. I need to get away from the Spa thing from time to time. When your customers talk about the commercials and half time shows it's nice to actually have a conversation with them about it instead of saying "oh I was here working that day". We all need to chill out and break away from our daily routines. And besides - I can spend some time with my husband! Maybe we'll win the $1 a Square pool! BUT if you want to stay open on a Sunday I would charge a premium and get people to pre-pay on credit cards. No-shows would really ruin your therapists day!
p.s. GO GIANTS!!!

We'll be open, and booked solid… by Super Bowl widows!
I'd like to see the commercials, but don't care about the football

Maybe next year, I don't have enough time to plan for it now. I was open during most of the Packers regular season though. I wasn't as busy as I was last year for Packer Sundays, probably because they did so much better this last season.

Can't be open for Super Bowl Sunday… myself and all my girls are HUGE football fans.

This would be great if my spa wasn't located in New England!!! There is nary a soul on the streets on any given game day throughout the season. Every man, woman and child of Mass. "loves them some Pats!" Hopefully the GIANTS win this year… and by that I mean the GIANTS with the 18-0 record.
