Oh, just one more thing…

ColumboRemember when Columbo used to almost let suspects off the hook, then turn around and casually utter those words 'Oh, just one more thing..'? Beads of sweat would pop out on the bad guys' foreheads and the conversation inevitably went downhill from there.

This is no crime investigation, at least we hope not!, but it is an opportunity to gently take the last opportunity you have with a client face-to-face to ensure they leave with either a yummy reminder of their visit for themselves, or perhaps something they can enjoy with others. Either way, scenarios might go like this…

[Client is blissful and refreshed, approaching your front desk in preparation to settle their bill…]

After inquiring about their spa session, you can, very nicely, notice the scent of massage oil they chose, and let them know that a beautifully bottled version of that lovely liquid is available–and at a discount if you like to add that little benefit in–just for clients receiving a massage today…

or

CandlesYou position your new line of aromatherapy candles along a path from treatment room entrance to where your clients check out..and have a sample candle lit somewhere near them as they prepare to leave. With a smile you can answer their query of 'What am I smelling? It's very nice…' with 'Oh, you noticed the newest offering in our wonderful candle collection, and you know they're soy, all natural and burn for a very long time!'…

You get the point. We all enjoy extending our spa experience. If we choose a personal reminder in the form of a lotion or potion, or opt to share with others by purchasing a soothing candle or aromatic infusion of some sort, by doing so we take a little of that relaxation and serenity with us, which will certainly help bring happy and nurturing memories out as we enjoy our takeaway treasures.
