Dealing with the Dog Days of Summer

Summer offers up a time for people to get away and relax, to reunite with family and friends in faraway and interesting places and to enjoy life as it's meant to be enjoyed.
While people are focusing on summer activities, spas get quieter. Business slows down while people are vacationing. The stars are even aligned uniquely during this time of year, in fact, that's where the term Dog Days of Summer originated.
What do you do to keep business flowing into your spa during these balmy months?
Here's one idea: Send an e-newsletter out to your clients offering up a 'special' of some sort. Consider crafting a few nice heat-busting treatments that'll attract clients who are still simmering in the city. Maybe include a cooling lotion or hair product with the special, so clients get a nice take away to extend their visit.
To create a nice, informative, beautiful e-newsletter, just login to your SpaBoom account, go into Setup, Email Marketing and put your thoughts into words. Adding a graphic always helps, as does adjusting the colors to suit your mood of the moment–some people choose to use their website colors (and spa's color theme), others prefer to change colors with each newsletter. The choice is yours.
Be sure to include a message to clients who have purchased Instant Gift Certificates for friends and loved ones, reminding them to encourage those who haven't yet taken advantage of the great services they've received in the form of an Instant Gift Certificate to your spa to get on in and enjoy those gifts!
Happy sales, and stay cool SpaBoomers!
