Thanks, Bridget!

It's challenging the first few months for a new spa with a new website, thanks to Google's sandbox. Your website is brand new, and not indexed by Google yet. That will happen faster than normal, because you're listed on Spa Emergency and because Dynamic Websites automatically use Google Sitemaps to tell Google about your website. The thing to do in the meantime is to leverage all of your other marketing avenues.

To promote Spa Emergency, we're focused on public relations, partnerships, search engine optimization and online advertising. We're expecting a big holiday season for SpaBoomers!

I really like the look of the Spa Emergency site. I like the overall setup. It looks clean and crisp and easy to read. I also really like the big "Buy" button that Cristy Malles mentioned. Being new to SpaBoom and just setting up my website, I have only received visitors to the site. I guess it takes time before people buy GC's or request online appointments? I'm hoping for a busy season this winter :) How is Spa Emergency being advertised?

Hi Pam,

With Spa Emergency, our goal is to attract new customers to your spa — both the gift purchaser and recipient. If the purchaser comes via Spa Emergency, whether the purchase is on Spa Emergency or your website, the 15% applies. An important difference here compared to other spa directories is that the gift purchaser is your client; you can do ongoing marketing to them like all of your clients. When they come back to you buy another gift, no longer via Spa Emergency, it's just the 5% or less.

My preference would have been to not have menu directly linked to spa Emergency because if they wanted to know more about my spa they would have had to go to my website and buying a gc off my website is less expensive for me at 5% as opposed to 15% from Spa Emergency. I'm still in but still skeptical.
