Social content websites

The tech industry is great at coming up with new, hard-to-decipher names for things. "Social content websites" describes sites where their value really comes from the people who use them. It's self perpetuating, and if it catches on, it can really explode.

All I have to do is name one site, and you'll know what I'm talking about: MySpace. It's the perfect example — there would be nothing there if it wasn't for all the teenagers and local rock bands talking about themselves. But MySpace has been so successful that it's grown beyond that: more visitors to retail websites now come from MySpace than MSN.

Spas are starting to take notice — this is why you'll find Renovatio Spa on MySpace.

Digg is another super-successful example. On Digg, you vote for stories that you like. And here is your chance to try it, and help Spa Emergency in the process. Go to Spa Emergency on Digg, and click the "digg it" button. You'll need to create an account, and then you can vote for Spa Emergency. Try it — Digg can be a little addictive.

We've gotten some clients directly from MySpace. It's pretty neat. MySpace, however, can be very very slow to load. It is way too slow nowadays.
